2 tbsp. butter, softened
5 sliced white bread, crusts removed
2 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
5 eggs, beaten
2 c. milk
1 small jar or can sliced mushrooms, drained
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Spread butter on one side of bread slices. Place bread slices, buttered side down, in a greased 10x6 baking dish. Sprinkle cheese over bread. combine milk, mushrooms, eggs, salt, and pepper. Pour mixture over bread. Cover and chill overnight. Bake, uncovered in a 350 oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until set.
