1 1/2 c. shortening 2 c. sugar 1/2 c. molasses 2 eggs 4 tsp. baking soda 4 c. flour 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. ginger 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. salt
Melt shortening in a pan, cool, add sugar, molasses and eggs. Beat well. Mix flour, soda, cloves, salt, cinnamon and ginger together. Add to first mixture, mix and chill. Form into 1 inch balls; roll in sugar, place on greased cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Bake at 375º F. for 8-10 minutes.
