Directions: |
Directions:Prepare swirled cream cheese filling: in a food processor or with an electric mixer, beat all ingredients together just until smooth. In a heavy small pan over very low heat, melt chocolate and butter or margarine together. Let cool to room temperature. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; mix well. Add walnuts, if desired. In a food processor or electric mixer, beat eggs until thick and light in color. Gradually beat in sugar and then vanilla extract until mixture is thick and light. Mix in chocolate mixture and then dry ingredients. Lightly grease or spray pan and spread in slightly more than half of the chocolate batter. Spoon filling evenly over the batter, and drop the remaining batter over the filling, spreading until even. Marbelize by cutting through batter with a table knife from side to side in a wide zigzag pattern. Bake in the center of the oven 40-45 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted 1 inch from the center comes out barely moist. Cool in the pan on a rack 6-8 hours before cutting into 30 brownies. |
