1 pound ground turkey
1 garlic clove
1/3 cup onion, grated or finely chopped (about 1/2 medium onion)
2 slices good quality white bread, cut into cubes
1Ĺ tbsp. white Worcestershire sauce
4 tsp. olive oil
3/4 tsp. dried oregano, crumbled
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 whole wheat hamburger buns

In a medium bowl, mix together the turkey, garlic, onion, bread, Worcestershire sauce, 2 tsp. of the olive oil, the oregano and salt and pepper. Mix well and form into 4 patties.

In a large nonstick pan, heat the remaining 2 tsp. of olive oil over a medium flame until hot but not smoking. Add the burgers and brown on both sides, 1 to 2 minutes on each side (donít press down on the burgers with a spatula, which will squeeze the juice out). Add 1 tbsp. of water to the skillet and cover lightly. Cook for 8-10 minutes longer, or until the burgers are cooked through and the juices run clear. Transfer to the toasted buns and add condiments as desired.
