2# cubed stew beef
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 head cabbage, shredded
1 large can diced tomatoes
2 cups dry red wine
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

3 carrots, peeled and diced into small pieces
3 large potatoes, peeled and diced into 1" cubes
2 c frozen corn
1 bag frozen green beans or mixed vegetables

Directions:

Brown beef in large stock pot with onions.. Add salt, pepper, tomatoes, red wine, cabbage and 4-6 cups broth or water. Bring to boil, then drop to simmer for 1-2 hours, or beef is tender and flavor has developed.

add shredded cabbage, and continue cooking another hour.

Add carrots and potatoes and cook an additional 15 minutes, or till veggies are tender.

Add corn and green beans; heat through and serve.
