1 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
1 egg
1/2 cup sour cream
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and beaten eggs; cream well. Sift flour, soda, salt and spices. Mix well, spread in greased pan 1/2 inch thick. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 minutes. Cool in pan, frost with favorite icing and cut into squares.
