4 cups of diced or chunks of ham
1 pound bag of split dried green peas
2 medium chopped onions
2 tsp of salt (or to taste)
1 sprinkle of pepper
2 quarts (8 cups of water) of water

Directions:

Let all ingredients come to a boil while stirring. Cover and reduce to simmer and let simmer for 2 hours.
