2T. SHORTENING
ADD IN ORDER
1 EGG,SALT,FLAVORING
2 SQUARES MELTED CHOCOLATE IN 1/2 CUP BOILING WATER
1t. SODA IN 1/2 CUP SOUR MILK
1 1/2 CUP FLOUR
FILLING:
COOK UNTIL THICK
1 CUP SUGAR
2 EGGS
2T. FLOUR
1 CUP MILK-REMOVE FROM FIRE AND
COOL A LITTLE AND ADD 1 CUP NUT MEATS.
PUT MOST OF THE BATTER ON THE BOTTOM OF PAN AND SPREAD THE FILLING OVER THE
RAW BATTER-SPREAD REST OF THE BATTER OVER THE TOP.

BAKE AT NORMAL CAKE TEMPERATURE.

5T. BROWN SUGAR
3T. BUTTER
2T. CREAM
1/2 CUP COCONUT
COMBINE IN SAUCEPAN AND HEAT UNTIL BUTTER IS MELTED. SPREAD ON CAKE WHILE HOT, THEN RETURN TO OVEN.
