2 c. sifted all purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
2/3 to 3/4 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until as fine as corn meal. Add 2/3 milk at once, stir together quickly til soft dough. If stiff, add more milk. Turn dough onto well floured board, and knead 8 to 10 times. Roll dough lightly with rolling pin until 1/2-3/4 inch thick. Cut into rounds with floured cookie cutter. Lift cut biscuits with spatula, place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 450 for 12-15 min.
