1 cup shortening
2 cups brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 cup molasses
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp ginger or 2 tsp
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp lemon juice
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all wet ingredients, then mix together in separate bowl the flour, salt, soda; then add to wet ingredients. Chill for about 2 hours. Shape dough into balls. Roll in sugar (raw sugar crystals are larger and best for this). Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes. Cool before devouring....YUM!
