1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 whole eggs well beaten
3/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 to 1 1/2 cups dates
1 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and add sugar, beaten eggs plus dry ingredients. Line pan with wax paper. Cook at 275-330 degrees (not too fast) for 10 to 12 minutes. The pan size is 8x10. When cool cut and roll.

It was noted on the recipe that you keep the candy rolled up in a "flour sac" cup towel. Florence often sent this recipe out when requested and Mary Elizabeth Finley could not locate it.
