2/3 c. sifted flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 1/2 to 2 c. dates (10 oz.) 1/2 c. chopped nuts 2 eggs 1/2 c. sugar
Sift flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Slice dates and add to flour. Add nuts and mix. Beat eggs until very light. Gradually add sugar and beat. Add eggs to flour and fruit mixture. Stir until just mixed. Spread thin in a well-greased shallow pan. Bake at 325º about 40 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes. Turn out and cut into strips about 2"x1". roll in powdered sugar. Store in tightly covered container.
