2 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. sour cream
1/4 c. milk
2 T. butter
1 T. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/3 c. chopped candied cherries

Directions:
Directions:
In a 2 quart saucepan, combine all ingredients except vanilla. Stir to a boil. Over moderate heat, cook 9 to 10 minutes to 238 on candy thermometer. Remove from heat; let set until lukewarm, 110, about an hour. Add vanilla; beat until it just begins to lose gloss and holds shape. Requires little beating. Makes 1 1/2 pounds. Cook to 240 if weather is damp.
