Brown Sugar Muffins Recipe

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 t. vanilla
2 c. four
1 egg
1 t. soda, dissolved in 1 c. milk
pinch of salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugar and butter, add other ingredients as follows: beaten eggs, milk alternately with flour and nuts. Bake in muffin tins for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
Nut crunch topping:
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. chopped nuts
1/2 t. cinnamon
Sprinkle on the top of the muffins before cooking.
