1 large grapefruit
1 1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1/4 tbsp salt
1 ( 3oz) pkg fruit flavored jello ( any flavor)

Directions:
Directions:
using pint of knife score grapefruit, peel into 4 length wise sections, loosen peel from fruit, cut peel into 1/4 inch strips to measure 2 cups, place cut peel in large pan, cover with cold water, bring to a boil for 20 minutes. drain, repeat 2 more times with fresh water each time, drain, combine sugar, water and salt in a an, cook and stir over medium heat to dissolve sugar, add peel and bring to a boil and simmer 20 minutes or until peel is transparent, gradually add the dry gelatin, stirring over low heat until dissolved, remove peel from syrup and drain on rack, let stand 20 minutes, then roll each strip in granulated sugar,let dry on racks overnight. store covered
