1 c white sugar
1/2 lb butter
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp white karo
3 tbsp water.

Melting Chocolate
Almonds, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cook all ingredients other than chocolate and nuts in pot until 300 degrees on candy thermometer. Stir furiously after it starts to boil.

(Dip spoon into hot water before you measure the syrup so it runs off easily)

Pour all of the candy on an oiled (spray with PAM) marble slam and thin it out.

Cool. Cut into pieces with paint scraper.

Melt chocolate and dip the crunch it. It can be topped with nuts if desired.

Men usually like this!

I made this and entered it into the 1994 Montgomery County Fair where it won grandma a 1st place ribbon!
