3 c all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp baking powder
2 1/2 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp butter or shortening
1 c milk, or buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine flour, salt, baking powder, sugar in mixing bowl. Cut in butter, until the mixture looks like bread crumbs. Stir in milk all at once for no more than 20 seconds.

Drop by spoonful onto a lightly floured baking sheet; or Knead 8-10 times, roll out to about thick, and cut into biscuits. Baste with milk. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
