1 c brown sugar
1 c white sugar
2 sticks butter
4 eggs
4 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c flour
1 c chopped dates
1 c nuts--optional

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, dates, nuts and vanilla, then add flour and mix. Bake 9 x 13 pan @ 350* for 30 minutes.

PERSONAL MEMORIES FROM DONNALEE (CATER) GEIGER: This was my favorite thing to bake with my mother as a child growing up in Indiana. This recipe is so quick and easy I have found myself making these on other family outings.
