1 c soft butter
3 c sugar
6 eggs
1 c sour cream
3 c flour (sifted)
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 c finely chopped walnuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together until llight and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each egg. Blend in the sour cream. Combine flour with baking powder and add this mixture to previous mixture a little at a time, blending well. Add vanilla and walnuts. Pour batter into well buttered angel food pan or two loaf pans lined with parchment. Bake at 350 F for about 1 1/4 hour. When done, remove from oven, let stand 5 minutes, then loosen sides and remove from pan to cool on rack.
