1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon soda
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon ginger
3 cups self-rising flour

Directions:
Directions:
Beat well the sugar, egg, and nutmeg. Add buttermilk and soda. Add other ingredients then add flour. Roll out and cut with doughnut cutter. Fry in deep fat.
