Cucumbers, 4-5 inches long
Fresh dill
Garlic cloves
1 qt. water
3/4 cup sugar
1 pint white vinegar
1/4 cup canning salt

Directions:
Directions:
In a one-gallon container, put in a few dill heads and garlic cloves - sliced onions are optional. Add the cucumbers - cut lengthwise to make spears. Add a couple more dill heads and garlic cloves on the top.
Bring the water, sugar, vinegar and salt to a boil. Pour over the cucumbers and refrigerate. These are ready to eat in a few days.
