2 large cans peeled tomatoes (2 1/2 lbs.)
4 cans tomato sauce (8 oz.)
2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. dried oregano
2 tsp. onion powder
2 c. minced onions
1/3 c. oil
2 lbs. ground beef
2 minced cloves, garlic
3/4 lb. lasagna noodles
3/4 lb. ricotta or cottage cheese
1/3 lb. thinly sliced or crumbled mozarella cheese
1/2 lb. grated parmesan

Directions:

Combine in large saucepan:
2 cans peeled tomatos (2 1/2 lbs)
4 cans tomato sauce (8 oz. cans)
2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. dried oregano
2 tsp. onion powder
Start simmering these ingredients uncovered in saucepan until golden:
2 c. minced onions
2 minced cloves garlic
1/3 c. oil
2 lbs. ground beef
Cook until meat loses it's red color. Add to the tomato sauce above, simmering about 2 1/2 hours.
Prepare:
3/4 lb. lasagna noodles, drain and separate noodles
Preheat oven to 350
Now let's build the lasagna!
Put in the bottom of baking pan:
1. thin layer of sauce
2. layer of noodles
3. layer of cheeses
In all use:
3/4 lb. ricotta or cottage cheese
1/3 lb. thinly sliced or crumbled mazarella
cheese
1/2 lb. grated parmesan cheese
Repeat with layer of sauce, layer of noodles and layer of cheeses two more times. Cover with remaining sauce and dusting of parmesan cheese.
Bake for about 40 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes. The lasagna can then be cut for serving.

Jeff's sister-in-law, Margaret King brought this lasagna to a family gathering many years ago and it was an instant hit with the family. I like to make it when I am serving a large crowd, but I have occasionally been known to crave it so badly that I will make it for just Jeff and I and freeze it to eat on those nights when "You just don't feel like Cooking".
