2/3 c. cocoa
3 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
4 1/2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp, salt
1/2 c. walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cocoa with sugar and salt. Add milk. Bring to boil stirring frequently. Cook to soft boil stage. Remove from heat. Add butter, cool. Add vanilla and nuts. Beat until thick. Pour into buttered pan and cut into squares.

Edith (Dahl) Nelson, mother of Thora (Nelson) Halvorsen and Elaine (Nelson) Billberg, was a cook at the elementary school in Wannaska, Minnesota. Edith and Doris Rasmussen were the first cooks for the first hot lunch program that started in 1954.
