11 egg whites
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup cake flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cream of tartar
9 egg yolks

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour 5 times. Sift sugar once. Separate eggs. Add salt to egg whites then beat until foamy. Add cream of tartar. Beat until whites form peaks but are not dry. Fold in sugar very carefully then fold in flour slowly. fold in well-beaten egg yolks. Add vanilla. Bake in a moderate oven (?350F) for 40-50 minutes.
