1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter, room temperature
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
1/2 t. almond flavoring
2 1/2 c. flour
1 t. soda
1 t. cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and butter until creamy. Add egg, vanilla, and almond flavoring; mix thoroughly. In separate bowl, sift dry ingredients together. Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until blended. Refrigerate 2-3 hours.

Heat oven to 375. Divide dough in half and roll to 1/4 inch thickness on lightly floured surface. Cut with cookie cutters, sprinkle with sugar. Bake 7-8 minutes or until delicately golden. Makes 5 dozen very tender cookies!
