3/4 C Sugar
1/2 C Butter or Margarine
1 Egg
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 C Flour
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Cream of Tartar
2 T Sugar
2 T Ground Cinnamon
Shortening

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, cream the 3/4 cup sugar and butter. Beat in the egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, salt, soda and tartar. Stir in butter mixture. Mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet. Dunk a glass in the sugar mixture and then press a ball flat. Do this for all cookies. Bake at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes.
