6 cups crumbled cornbread
about 3 cups crumbled loaf bread
1 cup chopped celery
1 med chopped onion
2 - 2.5 cups chicken stock
2 tsp. sage
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 chopped apple (this keeps it moist)
salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together in large bowl. You can add some melted butter (about 1/4 cup) or milk to make broth richer.Pour into greased 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 about 30-45 minutes.

Sometimes I add boneless cut up chicken. I put some recipes together to come up with this -- the closest to Mother's-- and still I can make it.
