1 C Butter
1/4 C Vegetable Shortening
1 C packed Brown Sugar
2 lg Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 1/2 C Rolled Oats
2 C Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 C Dried Dates, chopped into 1/4" pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and shortening till smooth. Add sugar; beat. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In separate bowl; combine the oats, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in dates. Drop batter by tablespoons, about 1 1/2" apart, on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, 12 to 14 min. Transfer to wire rack, cool.
