1 qt. Milk
1/2 c. plus 1/3 c. Butter
1 c. Hominy Grits
1 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Pepper
1 c. Cheese or more
1 tsp. Liquid Smoke

Directions:
Directions:
Heat mild to a boiling and add 1/2 c. butter. Stir grits in gradually. Cook until thicken. Remove from heat and mix with beaters for 5 minutes. Pour into a 9 x 13 x 2 glass dish.
Melt 1/3 c. butter and add liquid smoke. Drizzle on top of grits and sprinkle cheese on top.
Cook at 350 until cheese melts and turns slightly brown.

This recipe was my moms (Virginia Epps) recipe. I changed it just a little. We have this dish with corn beef. It is another traditional dinner for Sunday family night dinner.
