Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
3 c. quick oats
1/2 c. raisins
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 pkg. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350F.

Mix together flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.

Mix together shortening and sugars until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla. Gently fold in flour mixture. Add oats. Add chocolate chips and raisins.

Form dough into a roll, wrap in wax paper and chill. Cut into slices and bake for 10 minutes.
