2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup butter margarine
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup cocoa
2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
1/2 cup coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil on medium heat. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
Add rolled oats. Mix well. Let stand for 15 minutes.
Drop, using tablespoon, onto waxed paper-lined cookie sheets.

My mom made often made these cookies when we were little. They are great packed in lunches. I have made them for Hallowe'en parties and decorated them with gummy bats. The kids love them.
