8 eggs 1 1/2 c. half & half 3/4 c. brown sugar plus 1 T. 2 T. vanilla 8 slices thick French bread (I use Texas toast) 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup syrup 3/4 cup pecans
Blend eggs, half and half, 1 T. brown sugar, and vanilla. Put 1/2 of mixture in 9x13 baking dish. Add bread, pour rest of mixture over bread. Refrigerate overnight. In another 9x13 pan, melt butter, add sugar, syrup and nuts. Place soaked bread over nut mixture. Bake @ 350 for 30-35 minutes, until puffed and brown.
