3 T flour
1 1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
1 lb. beef tenderloin
1 cut clove of garlic
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. minced onion
1/4 c. water
1 can chicken broth
1 lb sliced mushrooms
1 c. sour cream
parsley, chives or dill
1 package of egg noodles, cooked

Directions:

Cut meat into 1 inch pieces, or thin strips. Combine the flour, salt and pepper in shallow plate or pie dish. Roll the meat in the flour mixture coating each piece. Melt the butter in a skillet and saute the onions. Add the meat and saute until golden. Add water, broth, and mushrooms; cook uncovered over low heat stirring occasionally until mixture is thick and meat is fork tender - about 20 minutes. Just before serving add sour cream and sprinkle with either parsley, chives or dill. Serve over warm noodles.

This was a childhood favorite of mine. It wouldn't be the Midwest without some good German style food. I can't claim this to be healthy but I do remember loving it!
