2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1 t.. each: baking powder, baking soda
1/4 t salt
1 cup each: chopped walnuts, diced dates, whole fresh cranberries
grated peel of 2 oranges
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c buttermilk
3/4 c salad oil

Topping:
1 C sugar
1 C orange juice

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients; mix with nuts, dates, cranberries,
and peel in large bowl. combine eggs, buttermilk and oil. Add to flour mixture; stir until blended. Pour into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Let stand in pan until luke warm. Turn out on cake rack placed over a jelly roll pan. Combine orange juice and sugar; dribble over cake a little at a time. Continue to dribble over the cake until all is absorbed. Refrigerate for 24 hours. Serve plain or with whipped cream.
