1 1/2 lbs Brussels sprouts
4 slices bacon, chopped (~1/2 cup)
1 large yellow onion, chopped (~1 1/2 cups)
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 can (14 1/2 oz) chicken broth
salt to taste
pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cut off and discard stem end of Brussels sprouts, then pull off and discard any discolored leaves. Halve each sprout lengthwise, then slice thinly crosswise to make shreds.
2. In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, cook bacon until it begins to brown, about 4 minutes. Add the onion and thyme and saute until onions are tender, about 4 minutes. Add Brussels sprouts and broth. Cover the pan, adjusting the heat to maintain a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Makes 8 servings
