"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste
This recipe for Upholstery and Carpet Cleaner, by Peggy Haynie, is from The Haynie Family Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1/3 C on-sudsy ammonia 1/4 C Thoro (dry cleaning fluid) 1 gallon hot water.
Mix together and put in a carpet cleaning machine and clean as directed on the machine continue going over dirty areas until the water being sucked out is clean. Then go on vacation so the carpets will stay clean.
This is a great cleaner and leaves things smelling nice and fresh once they dry.
