3 cans kidney (or rinsed black) beans
1 lg onion, chopped
1 lb ground beef
1 can tomatoes
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 -1 1/2 tbsp chili powder
1 1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 t. cocoa
1 bay leaf

Directions:
Directions:
Brown onion and meat. Add beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, salt, cocoa and bay leaf. Cover; simmer 1 1/2 hours, adding water if needed.

I like to use the black beans instead of kidney beans because their skins aren't so thick. They have to be rinsed good though. I also like to use 1 can of pork and beans instead of 1 can of the other beans. I don't know what the cocoa does. Someone at college told me to add it and I have added it ever since. (Is that what you call being too impressionable?)
