1 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup Butter flavored Crisco or 3/4 cup Crisco stick
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat brown sugar, Crisco, milk and vanilla at medium speed until blended. Add egg and beat well. Combine flour, salt and baking soda and add to shortening mixture; beat at low speed just til blended. Stir in chips and nuts. Press dough evenly into bottom of pan.

Bake 350 degrees greased pan 20-25 min. or til lightly browned and firm in center
