1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg; mix well. Mix together flour, cream of tartar and baking soda. Add to first mixture. Next add vanilla and mix well. Chill at least 15 minutes. Roll into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart. Sprinkle with sugar.
