3/4 c. cake flour
1 c. Crisco
1/2 t. salt
2 lb. powdered sugar
3/4 c. cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and shortening. Beat until fluffy. Add salt to water and stir until dissolved. Add powdered sugar and salted water. Beat well. Frost cake. Icing keeps well without being refrigerated.

This is the recipe that I use on my wedding cakes. I used to always use Crisco shortening, however, they changed the formula. They had to take the trans fat out. I don't think it tastes as good. If you double the recipe it makes enough icing to frost and decorate a small 3 tier cake. If you have and icing left over; place a damp paper towel on top of frosting and then seal with plastic wrap to prevent a crust from forming.
