3/4 c. shortening
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 t. vanilla
3 c. oatmeal
1 c flour
1 t. salt
1/2 t. baking soda


Directions:
Directions:
Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla until creamy. Combine last 4 dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 oven 12-15 minutes.

You can add raisins, nuts, chocolate chips or coconut. Aaron always wanted oatmeal/raisin cookies when he was asked what kind of cookies he wanted me to make.
