1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. milk
1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
5 medium apples, peeled and sliced
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
Raisins and nuts (optional)
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
6 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. water

For cake: cream sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Mix baking powder and salt with flour. Add milk and flour alternately to sugar mixture. Spread in jellyroll pan. Cover batter with apple slices sprinkled with one tablespoon sugar and one tablespoon cinnamon. Sprinkle with raisins and nuts. Pour on glaze and bake at 350 for approximately 45 min.
For glaze: Mix all ingredients in saucepan and cook until clear.
