1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned)
1 cup or more chocolate chips (semi sweet)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven at 350. Beat together butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add flour mixture and mix well. Stir in oats and chocolate chips and mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls on to ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12-14 min or until golden brown at 350 degrees F. Cool on wire rack. Makes 4 dozen.

You can also do bars and spread on a jelly roll sheet and bake for about 25 min or until golden. Let cool and cut into squares.
