1 1/2 c chopped chocolate-can use large Hershey bars in food processor, chop to very small pieces

3 Tbsp. water

Directions:
Directions:
1) put a layer of chopped nuts on a cookie sheet
2) put a layer of chocolate on top of nuts
3) pour hot toffee on top of chocolate, spread as evenly as poss. Let cool. (there may be nuts and chocolate that don't get covered with toffee)
4) cooking instructions for candy: Melt butter in heavy skillet on med, take off heat and add sugar, salt, vanilla, put back on stove, heat until bubbly (don't let the whole pan bubble, just about half) Add water, stir as little as poss. let it cook until light golden brown, test a drop in ice water, if it is sticky on your teeth, it is not done. But be careful, it burnes quite easily.
When candy is cool, brake it with a knife, and store in airtight container. This is a favorite of ours at christmas time.

Personal Notes:
If you make more than one batch, wash pan between batches. This really seems difficult, but not hard at all. The hardest part is chopping nuts and chocolate.
