2 C Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
3/4 C Shortening
2 Egg Yolks
1 tsp Lemon Juice
7 to 8 T Cold Water
8 Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 C Sugar
1 tsp Flour
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 C Powdered Sugar
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1 T Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 2 cups flour, salt and shortening ingredients with pastry blender, as for a pie. Then add the yolks, juice and water. Mix to make a soft dough. Divide in half and roll to fit a 9 x 13 pan (up sides as well). Mix together the apples, sugar, flour and cinnamon; mix well and put into crust. Roll out 2nd half of dough to fit over top. Cut several slits through top crust to let steam escape. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. When completely cooled, make a frosting with the powdered sugar, vanilla and milk and spread evenly over top.

This is a delicious dessert, especially served with vanilla ice cream. I've made it often over the last 40+ years.
