1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup sliced celery
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
2 Tablespoons shortening
1 package (7 ounce) elbow macaroni
1 can (16 ounce) tomatoes
1 can (8 ounce) tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1 can (4 ounces) mushrooms

Cook ground chuck, onion, celery and green pepper in shortening until beef is lightly brown, stirring occasionally. Remove from pan, reserving drippings. Add macaroni to drippings and brown lightly. Add beef mixture, tomatoes, sauce, water, salt, pepper, oregano and mushrooms. Cover and cook slowly 30-35 minutes or until macaroni is tender. You can use any kind of pasta.
