1 C. Sugar
3 T. cornstarch
Dash of salt
1 C. juice from cherries
2 T. butter
- tsp. almond extract
4 C. thawed, drained frozen pie cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add and stir cherry juice. Cook on medium heat until mixture is thick and clear. Add butter and almond extract. Cool. Add cherries to cool,cooked mixture. Place filling in a 9-inch crust and top with pastry crust. Cut slits for air escape and use an egg wash/sugar topping. Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes, or until bubbly.
