12 Orange slices "candy"
3/4 C water
1/2 C sugar
2 T flour

1 C brown sugar
1 T hot water
1 1/3 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 C margarine
2 eggs beaten
chopped nuts (optional)

Icing: 1 C powered sugar; butter and milk.

Directions:

Chop candy orange slices into small pieces. Cook first 4 ingredients for 10 minutes and set aside. In a separate bowl mix next 6 ingredients together well and then stir in first part. Bake in a 18" x 12" pan at 350 for 25 minutes. Let cool. Drizzle icing and cut into bars.

This is my grandmother's sister's recipe (Mom's side). She rated all her recipes... this one had "very very good" with the "verys" underlined!!
