4 cups all purpose flour
8 ounces lard
2 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp. ground cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, lard and sugar. Knead until dough is soft. Sprinkle flour on the table and extend dough (1/2 inch thick). Cut into circles.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place on a baking sheet and bake polvorones for 30 minutes.
Mix sugar and cinnamon. When done, sprinkle polvorones with sugar and cinnamon.

Note: butter can be substituted for lard for milder flavor.
Recipe can be halved to make less.
