16 Slices Day Old Bread, broken into 1" pieces
2 C Sugar
4 Eggs
3 C Milk
2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Salt
2 T Vanilla Extract
1 Can (21 oz) Apple Pie Filling, cut slices in half
2 C Coarsely Chopped Pecans (optional)
1 C Golden Raisins
3/4 C Butter or Margarine melted
Whipped Cream (optional)

Directions:

In bowl combine bread and sugar. Set aside. In another bowl, beat eggs, milk, cinnamon, salt and vanilla until foamy. Pour over bread & sugar. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Stir in remaining ingredients except for whipped cream. Pour into 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean! Cut into squares or just scoop and serve warm or cold with whipped topping...vanilla ice cream is also yummy!
